This Yamaha RD350 is a rare Swiss-market 1WU model fitted with a 1UA (347cc) YPVS engine — the perfect blend of LC roots and YPVS performance. Originally assembled in Switzerland and first registered in 1994, it features the classic red-and-white RD350 YPVS (F2) styling.

Power was first listed as 33 kW though is now listed at 37 kW in Germany, reflecting its full YPVS performance potential. After purchase in Switzerland, the bike accompanied me to Japan for three years and Germany for five, where it was regularly serviced and actively ridden. During later overseas postings, the bike was kept in dry, covered storage. It has some very minor damage to the fairing and the tank, but overall it is in very good condition.

Now back in Germany, it has been professionally serviced, fitted with new tyres and battery, TÜV-inspected, and fully re-registered (April 2025). This RD350 is a clean, road-ready two-stroke with great character, international history, and collector appeal — ideal for both enthusiasts and everyday riders alike.

Diese Yamaha RD350 ist ein seltenes 1WU-Modell für den Schweizer Markt und mit einem 1UA-YPVS-Motor (347 ccm) ausgestattet – die perfekte Kombination aus LC-Wurzeln und YPVS-Leistung. Ursprünglich in der Schweiz montiert und 1994 erstmals zugelassen, besticht sie durch das klassische rot-weiße RD350 YPVS (F2)-Design.

Die Leistung wurde zunächst mit 33 kW angegeben, liegt in Deutschland aber mittlerweile bei 37 kW, was das volle YPVS-Leistungspotenzial widerspiegelt. Nach dem Kauf in der Schweiz begleitete mich das Motorrad drei Jahre lang nach Japan und fünf Jahre nach Deutschland, wo es regelmäßig gewartet und aktiv gefahren wurde. Während späterer Auslandseinsätze wurde das Motorrad trocken und überdacht eingelagert. Es weist einige minimale Schäden an Verkleidung und Tank auf, ist aber insgesamt in sehr gutem Zustand.

Zurück in Deutschland wurde die Maschine professionell gewartet, mit neuen Reifen und einer neuen Batterie ausgestattet, TÜV-geprüft und vollständig neu zugelassen (April 2025). Diese RD350 ist ein sauberer, straßentauglicher Zweitakter mit großartigem Charakter, internationaler Geschichte und Sammlerwert – ideal für Enthusiasten und Alltagsfahrer gleichermaßen.
