Peugeot 106

106+1.6-16V+GTI

Volgens EVO Magazine de laatste echte hot hatch. Weinig gewicht, genoeg pk's voor bergen met pret. In diezelfde bergen voelt ie zich het beste thuis, helaas voor mij te weinig tijd om daar af en toe heen te rijden.

Deze 106 GTI werd als "106 S16" als eerste in Japan geleverd. Wel met het stuur links want dan ben je in het land van de rijzende zon pas echt premium.

Eind 2020 door mij zelf geexporteerd naar Nederland, het nodige papierwerk aan de Stellantis-kant (toen nog "PSA") betekende nog meer dan een half jaar wachten op een kenteken. Na drie jaar genieten wordt het tijd om de collectie wat in te perken en deze past simpelweg het minste bij onze manier van leven.

Aandachtspunt is wel de lak, deze is van de befaamde PSA kwaliteit van de jaren 90. Blanke lak op sommige plekken (vooral dak) al verdwenen. Motortje loopt p
prima. Auto staat binnen. Sony DAB+ radio met Apple Car Play (en ik neem aan ook de Android variant te gebruiken is). Nieuwe Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 RS banden op 15" aluminium "steelies look" wielen. Originele wielen tegen meerprijs voorhanden.

According to EVO Magazine the last real hot hatch. Light weight, enough horsepower for tonnes of fun. It feels most at home on twisty mountain roads, unfortunately for me too little time to drive there every now and then.

This 106 GTI was the first to be delivered in Japan as "106 S16". With the steering wheel on the left, because that's really premium in the land of the rising sun.

Exported by myself to the Netherlands at the end of 2020, the necessary paperwork on the Stellantis side (then still "PSA") meant waiting more than half a year for a Dutch registration. After three years of enjoyment it is time to limit the collection a bit and this one simply fits our way of life the least.

A point of attention is the paint, it is of the famous PSA quality of the 90s. Clear coat in some places (especially roof) has already left. Engine runs great.
